CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES
Hi Everyone!
I'm Katherine Griswold-Moran, the Mifflin Grounds Committee Chair. Welcome to all new volunteers, we are so glad to have you! I'm reaching out with a few opportunities.
On Saturday 10/10 from 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM, we will be meeting at the arboretum steps (On Midvale Ave across from Vault + Vine) to plant our brand new native plants. We could use as many volunteers as possible!
Sign up to water our street trees any weekend in October or November. This can be done on your own time and takes about an hour but is so important for helping these trees thrive. Sign Up Here
Are you interested in helping out in another capacity? Here are a few other opportunities.
1. Working in the arboretum (Midvale Ave.) at your own pace, on your own time, or with a few others -- I will be connecting a group of volunteers to do some training for this, so if you are interested please reply to this email and let me know.
2. Sheet mulching the Conrad St. Garden at the top right of the steps and/or adopting it in the spring. This garden loves to be dominated by invasive weeds, but we'd love to make it beautiful. We were thinking of sheet mulching for the winter and planting in the spring. But other ideas could work, too!
3 Leading a small playground improvement project - Adopt a planter or two, turn a planter into a fairy garden or sensory play bin, or beautify near the gymnasium doors.
4. Help install a rain barrel by the gymnasium doors to make watering plants on the playground easier.
